The project “Diversity is in the Meadow” ("La diversité est dans le pré" in French) offers a positive counter-discourse to the prejudices that persist and according to which there are few if any, people of sexuality and gender diversity outside major urban centers and that it is not possible for LGBTQ+ people to thrive in rural areas.
Les 3 sex* in partnership with the Chaire de recherche sur la diversité sexuelle et pluralité des genres and thanks to funding from the Bureau de lutte contre l’homophobie et la transphobie, offers you seven short video portraits featuring seven people of sexual and gender diversity in seven regions of Quebec.
Starting April 5th, 2021, we will publish one video capsule per week and will take the opportunity to present the work of our regional partnership. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for all things project-related!
Each video will reveal the story and reality of a sexually and gender-diverse person living in one of the selected regions.
This project does not seek to deny the discrimination and oppression that can be experienced in the regions. It only aims to offer a plural look, relative to plural situated points of view, of people of sexual and gender diversity in the regions. This is why it remains essential to support the work of organizations in the regions to ensure the well-being of people of sexual and gender diversity. For this reason, we encourage you, between April 5th, 2021 and May 21st, 2021, to make donations to the regional partner organizations of the project.
