Want to talk about how 2SLGBTQIA+ people are left out of sex ed?
Sexual health education is an ongoing, and essential process, but we live in a sex-negative world. And one that’s pretty hetero- and cis-sexist. We are often given misinformation, or no information, leading many communities erased from conversations about sex, sexuality, and safer sex.
Let’s talk about how to address that.
Join Quadrangle NL and Community-Based Research Centre for a webinar series called "(Uncovered): Sex at the Kitchen Table.” Designed as a more relaxed setting to talk about 2SLGBTQIA+ community sexual health education needs. The overall vibe of the webinars is meant to recreate a talk with friends about our experiences, misunderstandings, and knowledge.
The series is every three weeks on Saturdays (Oct 3rd 2020 until Mar 20th, 2021) at 6PM(NT). This is a community-driven project stemming from Pivot St. John's, a four-day community health leadership program for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in St. John’s held earlier in March 2020. Program participants cited the lack of queer and trans inclusive sex ed as a top priority.
So grab your cup of tea and join us as we discuss sexual health, identities, sexualities, proclivities and more. Yes, even the taboo stuff.
