This presentation will address the ways in which women use beauty and seduction power in selfies, discussing matters of beauty and of gender stereotypes. The talk will also engage with the understanding that political, symbolic, and technological realities are transferred to women’s experiences in the digital world as well as in communication and information technologies.
Sexual Presence: Virtual Realities and Human Sexuality

Sociosexual Practice: What Do We Know About Tinder?

This lecture will address behaviour related to the usage of Tinder, including frequency, motivations, purposes, and the way in which interactions between its users play out, online and in person. The presentation of self and criteria for profile appreciation will also be discussed.
Erotic Robots or the Future of Human Sexuality: Ethical and Social Implications
By Simon Dubé, PhD student in Psychology and researcher at the Center for Studies in Behavioural Neurobiology at Concordia University

This lecture focuses on the ethical and social issues surrounding erotic robots. The talk will propose potential clinical applications of this technology and its relevance for research in human sexuality, and will point out certain priority areas for research.
