The COVID-19 pandemic has turned our lives upside down. In the span of a few weeks, our lives have changed diametrically, whether it be our friendships, professional relationships or even our love lives. Very quickly, we had to lock ourselves down, wear a mask and keep our distance from others. Beyond the immediate impact of this pandemic on public health issues, what about its impact on intimacy? Far from being only a health and economic problem, COVID-19 has had significant repercussions on sexuality and relationships, as well as consequences for individuals, depending on their gender or sexual orientation. While the research in medicine and virology has largely documented the health impacts of COVID, research is gradually mobilizing to address the consequences on everything intimate. Although there are still no scientific reference works on the subject, the scientific community is nonetheless looking into the influence of this pandemic on our sexuality, intimacy and relationships with others. Thus, between problems of desire, the importance of the internet while dating during the pandemic, the well-being in couple relationships or the impact on LGBTQ+ people, this scientific review offers a quick state of the affairs of the research under the threat of the COVID-19.
