Learning to Act: adapting healthcare practices to promote inclusiveness for gender-diverse people
This guide is designed for healthcare professionals, to provide them with the tools they need to adopt inclusive practices for trans and non-binary patients.
The project’s main objective is to promote inclusive practices in our healthcare system, in order to mitigate the impact of the system’s current shortcomings on the experiences, physical health and mental health of gender-diverse people.
Project stages
- Literature review;
- Data collection through the survey of gender-diverse people regarding their needs in the healthcare system (100 respondents);
- Fifteen interviews with trans and/or non-binary people;
- Transcription of interviews and data analysis;
- Facilitation of two focus groups with neurodivergent and gender-diverse people;
- Around ten interviews with healthcare professionals;
- Creation of a brochure summarizing the key data collected;
- Drafting and creation of a guide intended for healthcare professionals;
- Creation and implementation of training programs for healthcare professionals.
