Description
This Policy Brief is a joint effort by three global key population-led networks to bring attention to the lived experiences of key populations [gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men, people who use drugs, sex workers, and transgender people] and their families, and highlight the ways that stigma and discrimination inform these experiences.
It then discusses the various ways that stigma and discrimination impact on the experiences of key populations and their families and impede fulfilment of these rights.
The policy brief then describes community-led efforts to mitigate the impact of stigma and discrimination on the families of key population members, and to advocate for recognition of their rights. It concludes with recommendations for policy-makers aimed at fulfilling their human rights.
