Cyberheroes: Preventing Gender-Based Cyberviolence Among Young Boys
Funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada, Cyberheroes aims to prevent gender-based cyberviolence against women and 2ELGBTQI+ people by working with young boys who may be exposed to and influenced by manosphere content. The program is embedded in their communities through the active involvement of young male allies.
The Cyberheroes program brings its mission to life through four main initiatives:
-
The Mano a mano podcast
-
Live workshops on Twitch
-
An educational guide designed for parents and youth workers
-
A research report

Educational Guide for Parents and Youth Workers
This guide helps parents, youth workers, and school staff recognize early signs that may lead to cyberviolence and take steps to prevent it.
The report is set for release in fall 2025.
Cyberheroes has created a research report that digs into how the manosphere shapes gender-based cyberviolence, highlighting what puts youth at risk, what can protect them, and how we can step in effectively. The goal is to curb its influence by engaging directly with boys aged 14 to 17 and working in partnership with the networks around them, including government, schools, families, and youth service professionals.
