Dating apps are nowadays part of the commonly accepted places to find an intimate partner or partners. According to a recent study, nearly 15 % of adults in the United States have used one in their lifetime. However, the subject is not neutral. While some studies denounce a certain commodification of love, others simply consider it to be a privatization of intimate dating, allowing individuals to extract themselves from the control of peers. In any case, the issues surrounding these applications are numerous, hence the large number of studies on the subject. The use of and interactions that take place on these applications are, therefore, very useful to understanding our relationship to norms surrounding love and intimacy. Dating applications are thus a mirror of our ways of being and acting, between several relational possibilities and a dark side with sexism and racism which seem to proliferate within them. This review will therefore be an opportunity to try to draw as accurate a picture as possible of the scientific news on this subject.
