The political committee, founded in the fall of 2018, aims to study the sexological issues often the subject of debates, to allow the organization to reflect and take a position in a clear and nuanced manner. These positions are supported by an analysis report and recommendations in order to more easily approach and demand improvements in sexual rights for the population.
Those involved in the political committee are responsible for listing scientific articles, position statements, and recommendations of other sexual health organizations to discuss these different positions and to write one as per the values of Les 3 sex*. Position statements are presented at the General Assembly meetings for approval by members.
The committee has already taken a stand in favour of the decriminalization of sex work and is currently working on developing a lexicon that promotes inclusive terms that are non-discriminatory.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of subjects that Les 3 sex* finds relevant to take a position on as a sexual health organization: bodily autonomy, pornography, accessibility, the inclusion of trans people, inclusive language, realities of indigenous people, people of color, or migrants, freedom of expression and censorship.
In short, the Les 3 sex* political committee is interested in sexological issues requiring a clear position statement to promote the sexual rights and sexual health of the population.
