Sending content of a sexual nature is a common practice amongst adults and young people, and, unfortunately, there are many cases of abuse. Often, the response given by different organisations (governmental, community based or the press) can be moralizing and stigmatising. In accordance with its values, the PIaMP wants to create a practical tool that helps youth practice sexting responsibly while raising awareness to related risks in a non-judgmental way.

Le PIaMP. (2020). Let’s talk about sexting! Here’s a practical guide to accompany you in your decision making. https://piamp.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/SextingPiampSiteInternetENG.pdf
By emphasizing youth autonomy and empowerment, the PIaMP team addresses highly stigmatized sexual practice in a caring and non-judgmental manner. This guide not only provides youth with legal information on the practice of sexting, but also provides concrete courses of action to reduce the risks associated with it. Guided by a harm reduction approach, the PIaMP has, through the publication of this practical guide, been able to carry out prevention methods. This has been done without creating a climate of fear and guilt among young people who practice sexting, a method rarely used in other awareness campaigns.
This practical guide also discusses sextortion and makes recommendations for youth to increase their safety. Resources are also presented as a conclusion.
In addition, this practical guide uses inclusive writing, making it possible to include all youth, regardless of their gender identity.
