Empreinte – Agir ensemble contre les agressions à caractère sexuel is a new sexual violence prevention program for highschool students, their parents and school staff. This program was co-developed by professors Manon Bergeron and Martine Hébert from the Sexology department of UQAM in collaboration with the Québec Coalition of Sexual Assault Centers (RQCALACS) and the Service aux collectivités de l'UQAM.
The goal of the program is to reduce social tolerance towards different forms of sexual violence. In order to attain this goal three complementary components were developed :
♦ Six in class workshops tackling the six important themes with students in an interactive and dynamic way.
♦ School Staff training, teaching and non-teaching.
♦ Videos for parents presenting the same themes as the student workshops. The goal of these videos is to help parents create opportunities do discuss sexual violence prevention with their teens.
The program is offered by 26 CALACS (Sexual Assault Centers) in schools across the province, depending on their resources and availability.

The RQCALACS (an organization grouping sexual assault help centres in Quebec) and the CALACS (sexual assault help centers) that are in this group defend an “abolitionist” position regarding sex work.
The sixth workshop of the program focuses on sexual exploitation and confuses this notion with sex work. The term “prostitution” is in fact prioritized in their speech. The capsule for parents on this theme presents sex work as a form of exploitation against women. It says that any form of exchange of sexual services for remuneration cannot be done consensually: the latter are manipulated and forced to exercise them
Despite the fact that the workshops are aimed at minors, there is still no distinction made between the different terminologies used: regardless of the age of the person, prostitution constitutes a form of exploitation according to the abolitionist vision.
